LEVEL EDUCATIONAL GOALS
BEGINNER 1 To establish and develop basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills by using basic grammar and sentence patterns. Students learn expressions related to very private and familiar topics such as themselves, family, hobbies and weather.
2 Students learn complex sentences, and are able to compose them in a relatively stable manner and communicate naturally in real situations through various role-plays.
INTERMEDIATE 3 To develop Korean language skills in various situations through the activities such as 'interviews/acting', Students are able to use honorification freely and to participate in daily conversations with Koreans without difficulty.
4 Students learn not only the subdivided expressions commonly used in various fields of Korean society, but also the differences in the senses caused by differences in intonations. By introducing formal debate to classrooms or using news reports or media students will be prepared to become familiar with more practical and complex real Korean conversations.
ADVANCED 5 Students will develop advanced expressions and comprehension skills based on the Korean grammar and the speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills that are learned in the beginner and intermediate levels. In addition, students will encounter unfamiliar conversations such as politics, economy, society, and culture in Korea. Emphasis is placed on learning by identifying the distinction between spoken and written language, and expressions appropriate to “private language” life and formal and informal situations.
6 Classes proceed to enable students to logically convey their intentions and to communicate in public situations based on the sentence patterns and language learned over the course of time. In addition, students will develop their skills enough to discuss with Korean university students on topics such as Korean history, literature, culture, economy, politics, and society.
